We purchased the farm in June 2015, which consisted of derelict barns from an old dairy, needing total re-development. The work started with dismantling the old dairy sheds and clearing the land of the old farm waste. This all took place under the watchful eyes of the English heritage and an on-site archaeologist to preserve any historic findings uncovered during the redevelopment process (please see below). Some pieces of interest were found all of which have been dated and preserved. There are also agricultural buildings that have been given a face lift, and one that has been completely transformed into winter housing of our livestock with feed station.

New Barn Farm sits within the Knowlton South Circle Henge.

This is the largest and possibly earliest of a group of four Late Neolithic henge monuments at Knowlton.

Henge monuments are circular enclosures with an external bank and an internal ditch and are thought to be ritual or ceremonial monuments and date between four and five thousand years ago!

The group of henges and other prehistoric monuments at Knowlton, form one of the most significant prehistoric sites in Britain.
